one of my samples from schrade from 1970's was a 886uh yea
not 885uh,so I called the factory and they told me it
was a screw up,then they told me 886uh was for export to
south america, then they told me to send it back to them
well I never did,it's brand new condition(never sold)
but I sure won a lot of bets from knife collectors that
told me the knife was never made, then I would take it
out of the knife roll.oppps they just would stare at it.

A large part of the fun of collecting is when you come across an oddity that bamboozles even the pros. Schrade was not perfect in their use of tangstams and numbering, and even transposed blades occasionally. They do make interesting collectables. I had not heard of them using a different number for export knives. Can you post a picture for us?
