Schrade 897UH "Buckskin" Style scales

A recently ended auction has some info about the 897UH that I had not yet heard.

Is anyone interested in discussing the topic of test versions of the delrin coloring prior to initial public release in 1967? Or same for any other models?

I am not sure if the seller has the exact spin on this subject or not, but I am hoping Codger will stop by to refresh the thread he wrote on Delrin, dying, etc. from some time back.

Here is the Delrin dissertation, as only the Codger could write up. Essentially, the "buckskin" is delrin with not much color, and fairly flesh toned. Sometimes you'll see some dark brown ones too, called "Treebark"

Hi guys - Hal thanks for posting the link to Codger's post on delrin. Have to admit, I searched and somehow that didn't come up.

WOW!! Michael amazing post!!

Turns out there was a lot of good in the sellers description. Maybe if he or she reads this we may get some more info.

Are there any other delrin weirdness(es) that anyone wants to talk about?
