hi, just want to let you know try your local kmarts one last time awhile back the lady i was talking with found 4 8ots in their stockroom, anyway went to a local one for something different, wound up in the sporting goods,as usual, and what did i spy a 104 and 8ot on clearance in the bottom of the case.i found these today the 26th of july so their are still a few out there.thanks.

I think you'll find that knife shops do the same. I recently visited my local knife dealer and got him off his lawn mower to search his stockroom for me. I came away with a NIB 885UH King Ranch for $22.00 (in the bilingual box produced for WalMart Canada), and he still had nine LB7s in the tan boxes at $27 each, along with some 108OTs and a few others. He returned them to the stockroom telling me he would rather sell them later to me than to put them out in the display case. Let me know if you need one for your collection and I'll pick one up for you. And I bought his last knife of a particular pattern for $23 to reward him for his trouble. Yup, a 1095HC Sharpfinger in the tan box.

I agree, they are still out there, but certainly not like they were two years ago. Speaking of which, we are fast approaching the second anniversary of the Schrade closing. Just thought I'd mention it.

Even $30 is not bad if you are in the market for one and it is NIB and mint complete. I personally do not value the last ones with the stainless hollow ground blades as highly as the earlier carbon steel ones, but that is just me.

While I have not concentrated on the search, I would still like to find good deals on the three clampack examples, tan, blue stripe, and diamond plate motif. I suppose the way you guys keep me thinking of Sharpfingers (you know who you are!), I'll eventually wind up with all the bonus clampacks of the Sharpfingers as well. Then there are the Canadian Maple Leaf bilinguals (Canada Works With Schrade/Le Canada, a choisi Schrade), the Australian packs, and the Europeans.

Heaven help me if you guys get me hooked on the Scrimshaw Sharpfingers! Wait! I just bought a 1984 Olympic Shooting Team Commem. Does that count as a scrim?

I think only if you would like it too!

hi, mr. codger 1st. if i knew you were interested in the clampack schrades id have traded a beautiful blue packaged one instead of letting it go on ebay for 19 bucks, now my question, i was looking through all my smkw catalogs dating back to the mid 80s. and i noticed a lot of special edition 152s all kind of different handles, special etches etc. do you collect these , as im always checking my different places for anything unusual.

tthman, I'm always on the lookout for advertising containing details on Schrade knives. I'd love to see those older SMKW catalogs. Shoot me an email please! mllittle@tds.net

As I had recently been discussing with another forum friend, Smokey was a very good customer and important outlet for Schrade for many years, and many special orders were specifically made for them, some in quite small quantities, and few examples of some of those come back on the market. I'd love to add those Sharpfingers to the lists of knives made by Schrade.

Codger (Michael... we don't tend to use formalities here!)
