Schrade Alert!!! A hoard found - any interest?

First - check your local KMART stores - I was just in one and they had a LOAD of Schrades - THE REAL ONES - USA made. Old stock, must have been sitting around for awhile. All in the original clampacks and with the MADE IN USA logo....They had maybe a dozen 8OT's, some 34OT's, maybe a dozen each of the "Minuteman" and the "Junior Stockman" and a few 897UH's.

The 8OT's were $19.99...all others were I think $13 each. If anyone is interested in these I could buy and ship them. I'm not going to buy them myself because I would have no easy way to sell them. Or, if you are local (MA) I can tell you where they are.

The strange thing about K-Mart is that once I think I have a store cleaned out, I can go back months later and still find more knives. When traveling I usually try to check out local K-Marts (it is pretty easy to get my wife to go into a K-Mart),:D and I am surprised at what I have found, often at reduced prices. I was in my local K-Mart last week, which I had cleaned out last year, I found a bunch of SX4Bs for $9.00 & a SX4 for $7.00. I bought one of each as I had given some of mine away. Granted a SX4 is no Schrade mother lode, the point is that there were not there 6 months ago. Having managed retail stores, I know that merchandise has a way of hiding in the back corners of the store or warehouse and then suddenly someone "discovers" it.

I think it pays to keep checking the stores that you thought were cleaned out. I have had similar experience with two Northwest owned chain stores, Bimart & Fred Meyer. Bimart carries the chitaylor Schrades (though their people don't like them), If you find a USA made Schrade in their display case, they will sell it to you for the chitaylor price. I have bought a couple Sharpfingers new in box for $16.87, the new price of a chinee Sharpie.:D :D

good finds ,i cleaned out every kmart within 75 miles but as far as prices, which are the same i paid, why in the heck will kmart not lower the 8ots.they will not move off 19.99. ive seen the 34s go and 108s go from 19.99 to 17 to finally 13 and 12 but not that model.i still bought them all at that price which was worth it, in my opinion.
 
Hmmmm.....almost all our Kmarts are gone now. I think we use to have maybe 4, 5 in the area at one time?
