Does anyone have information on this Schrade lockback? Can't seem to find it referenced in the usual places. It's a nice piece, NIB with leather sheath.Scrimshaw shows an eagle motif, with the dates 1782 and 1982 on a banner below.Blade marked Schrade + USA LB5. No. 3574 on bolster . Would appreciate any ideas on value. cmeader

G'day and welcome to Schradeland mate. You can view several mint sets together with the original Schrade Flyer from 1982 on the link below.....page 1 of 18 shows its history...Created by USA Schrade in 1982 its an LB5SC scrimshawed, serial numbered, total manufacture 5,000.<Original Retail Price in 1982 on Schrade Flyer was stated at $60 however I believe they were really issued at $35> It was created to commemorate 200 years from when The American Eagle symbol was accepted for The Great Seal of US by Continental Congress on June 20th 1782. I've sold several sets previously they are scarce but not uncommon to find on Ebay these days...Collector Value IMO at the current market is $85 to $105.<the LB5 Smokey Lock Back was a popular size and issued from 1982 to 2001>...I see them sell for less when sellers dont really know what they have or their history...these sets are now 29 years old and in mint condition should be worth every cent of my price range....good photos of the Scrimshaw are essential.....Hoo Roo ..the link...
