Codger.. How did you know?
I found a box with the Schrade ornament in it last night and asked my wife to find a good place for it on the tree. She surprised me by putting it eye level right in the front of the tree. I 1/2 expected it to be hidden in the back.

Because if I had bought the Schrade ornaments last year instead of passing the links to you, that is what I would be doing. As it is, I have no Schrade balls.
Larry, it is a lucky man whose wife supports his hobby by not only giving him his own mancave, but by promanently placing his Schrade ornament on the tree.;)

Codger,
I'll send you one. That way we can both go through this life with at least one ball.
I believe my wife is placating me... Putting the ornament in the middle of the tree will cause people to ask "WTF is that" and then I get to explain, causing endorphins to be released into my blood stream reducing the other effect of having only one Schrade ball.
Its the holiday season afterall.
I look forward to 12/26.. Bah Humbug.

would I lie?
I had 2..

Perhaps those of you who were with us this past holiday season will remember this delightful exchange of season's greetings. For those who were not, I thought maybe a brief explanation might help. I'll leave the subject of socks, ping pong balls, drown royal, etc. for another time.

SCHRADE BALLS
This is a totally rare Christmas Ornament from Imperial Schrade Factory. The ornament is silver and has Happy Holidays from Imperial Schrade Corp. in Red with a Pic of a knife. Still in it's origional package and never even opened.

Silver, green, blue, maybe red, the christmas ornaments are indeed rare, and while they do have a picture of a FOLDER on them, for display, they are FIXED on the tree. Last one with Schrade balls (at least one) is a rotten egg!!

Hmmmmmmmm,

Let me think about this post for a second or so.....

OK then, is this a hidden grovel of some type??? I of course have sworn off of them after my last attempt. :o I wasn't sure just how many of you have Schrade balls.....or maybe even just ONE.

Or....are you guys campaigning to be the official Schrade Collectors Forum Christmas Ridgeling or something? Frankly, using the term FIXED, in massive capital letters, during this discussion is a might frightening... Does the folder on the Christmas ball have a spey blade by chance? Just wondering.

Interesting thread Michael.

Bill

Fixed scares you? Well, you really need to get some Schrade balls. Lucky for you it is a long time until next December. I guess you could cheat and superglue a folder to a pingpong ball and hang it on your tree, but it wouldn't be the same. I mean, these things are the ultimate bling-bling for the manly collector. Hmmm... that reminds me, I haven't seen the Schrade marbles in a while either.

Codger

Codger,
Ok.. I'll send you a Schrade mirror so you can look at the Schrade marbles anytime you want. Multi colored?
I dont wanna know.

Greetings all!!

New meat on the the block and no one has a knife... Yeah, right !!

Well, thought I'd better get "on board" so as not to be thought of as an interloper :) As for the ornaments - Oh Lord, something else to collect !! Like I've heard said, I've gottit bad !!!

I find I fare better when I keep my yap shut, not to mention there is and has been such GREAT stuff to read here - I spend a TON of time doing just that - reading....

Again, greetings... Hello to Larry and Dale!! And Thanks !!!

We gotta dig out some thongs for danny.. (what a thought!)
Glad you made it danny. Stick around. Post a couple of pictures of that nice collection your building.

Add to the list Hot water bottle, wall placque(s), playing cards and hats for those hat pins.

Cripes, I thought I drifted in to W&C.:D OOOHHH, collecting is so wonderful!!
Good thing I don't have a barn.

Irv,

Whoopsie :o ... of course I mean Larry, I'm a little slow (big surprise) but...is our new friend Danny collecting knives, or THONGS? 'Cause if it's thongs, I gotta talk with Phil, as he tightly controls the MARKET...as it were.

Oh, and Luis...why is there a paddle and a corkscrew in your picture, in this thread about Schrade balls??

mewolf1...more wine? :D

Memo

...a paddle and a corkscrew...
My younger daughter is a Psychology major, maybe she will sometime be able to analyze and understand the motives for what I do...

Actually I just wanted to include a fixed blade and a folder, you guys have the good ones from Schrade, so I just posted what I have. Some of you may know that I was much into Table Tennis aka ping pong for a good while, I also enjoy wine, drink it every day and have a bunch of corkscrews.

The paddle (fixed blade) is an old Double Happiness 032, sorry guys it's made in China, and it is a good one too.

The corkscrew (folder) is a nice Chateau Laguiole, horn handle, typically French, it was a present from my wife. You guys who can tell a well fit and finished knife would appreciate this one.

And the balls, sometimes I wonder how can there be so many in my house, all those ping ping balls, the baseballs (I played from little league until college, I was a fine shortstop really), the soccer balls, and all kind of cute looking balls that I juggle to make the kids laugh, and then there is that big thing about 2 feet in diameter that my daughter uses for exercise (Pilates or whatever that is).

Luis

Welcome dannybee. I trust you got all your questions answered...................except about thongs.

No one wants to see an old fat bald guy in a thong......even if it is a Schrade Thong! :barf: Therefore I will pass on the Schrade Thong! :D :D :D

Welcome aboard!

That's the problem with thongs, I hear. You have to keep digging them out. Perhaps "Thongmeister" Phil can be induced to post a picture again of his thong collection.

I love it when a new person pops into the forum. We really get to show our best sides..
Im going to look for the ping pong thread.. Bet that one has been archived,
We have special tools like the ST2 and ST6 for dealing with hidden and hard to reach thongs.

P.S. We forgot to add our scorpion recipes to the long list of bling bling.

I'm sorry lARRY, I was, of course, just trying to be helpful to one of our own. Just setting the tone, so to speak.
I've been looking for my best side for many years...I'm 0fer forever on that challenge as well.
Well, seems like everyone loves a big Schrade hunter in a bright florescent thong...perhaps Phil will post his picture again. Until then here is one of my favorite thongs.....

Bill

Oooohhhhhh!!! THEM kinda thongs!!! I gave up “collecting” those along about the time I became “an old fat bald guy”..

Yep !! I are one !!!

dannyb

Codger...Codger...where are you Michael???

You started this suggestive thread, then boogied!!

Do you have one Schrade ball...or two, in your possession?

Lucky is the man whose wife will put his Schrade ball right up front, no? Just ask Irv...er, I mean Lary.

All in fun here, :D

Bill

Like Larry, I do have one ball, pictured above. The silver one. I don't have a phthong for it though. That would add to the cool factor, though it might make it hang low from the tree. And as you know, when they hang low, they tend to wobble to and fro. Maybe I can tie it in a knot, or tie it in a bow, but it would hang low.

Given the rarity of this artifact, I am tempted to just leave it in the original package. Yes, a true Schrade collector has at least one, even a folder guy. But especially a fixed blade owner like yourself, Bill.

Codger

Speaking of Schrade balls...

That FIXED comment was certainly below the belt...ouch!

If your ball has served you well, and been in it's original packaging all this time...well, I don't think it would be a good idea to tear it's package open now. JMO, of course.

Ball...ooops!!...Bill

P. S.
If you feel you must have a go at your package...please use the pictured Schrade tool, as the shears are among the best around. I'll even send you one if needed.

Again, this is an interesting thread...and certainly helps prove your theory of evolution...or something like that. :)
