Schrade Bolo machete

I haven't played with one, but there are a few things that raise big red flags for me. First off is what the heck is going on with that huge useless "guard" thing? It's obscuring the base of the blade AND preventing you from choking up on it further. They would have done better to drop the useless and ugly projection and extend the edge to the base of the blade. Second is the textured rubber handle. Notice that the guy in the video review was wearing gloves. That's because grippy rubber handles (ESPECIALLY textured ones) will cause chafing/rubbing and blistering with extended use if used bare-handed. Go with a Condor.

You're very welcome! Like I said, I haven't actually gotten my hands on one so take my opinion for what it's worth, but it does strike me as a model that was "designed to sell" rather than "designed to use."
 
You are probably right about the grippy handle but it is a nice looking piece. I like the detachable pouch with sharpener and firestarter rod. Shoulder strap carry seems a bit gimmicky though.
 
The Marble's bolo machete is good if you can sharpen a machete with a file. Imacasa makes Marble's as well as Condor.

I have the swamp master machete by marbles and TBH Im not impressed AT ALL.Gimme cold steel at that price point all day.The sheath looks much better than a CS typical sheath but to me was all looks.

I have the swamp master but I, unfortunately , have not been able to use it. I can't comment on it but what was your complaint(s)? My Marble's bolo sheath has been fine, to me.
