Maybe you can help me regarding a Schrade case. A friend of mine had it for many years, and is trying to establish a value for it. The wood case is about 19" x 9" x 3" and holds six new knives, numbers 8041, 2941, 8801, 2661, 8341, and 7801. Inside the top, there is a cardboard behind a plastic sheet advertising "Schrade's Heritage". "The Finest Line of American Made Bone Handled Knives" Also some other text, "Genuine Bone Handles", etc. The knives have the Schrade logo insert shows the manufacture date of 1983 on each knife (19 on the left, and 83 on the right). The bottom part of the case also has a plastic cover, and the knives appear to be untouched, certainly unused. Looks like a display case a salesman would sell to a retailer, as the case has hooks to hang it with the box open to display. I cant figure out how to attach a picture of it to this posting, but you can email me for photos at wsatte3277@aol.com. I would appreciate any comments on the value of this small collection. Thanks!

Wayne.

Glad to see you here again. Thanks for bringing your question to us. Nice set of knives. As far as value? Well, looking over past ebay sales, I found a display case only, no knives, that went for $32. Also I saw a couple of model 2941 bone handled trappers that went for $50 Plus. That ought to give a rough estimate. It's over twenty years old, which is a plus.

I dunno though for a whole set. The guys here will give you educated guesses, unless they can say what they've bought or sold one of these sets for. I'm guessing $250-300. What do ya think, guys?

Phil
