There is no doubt in my mind that you will achieve a higher result if you sell individually. Sell with as much truthful/accurate information as you have about the item, take plenty of clear photos, and take your time, and make it patently clear it is NOT a Taylor Schitschrade.......buyers can sense a forced or rushed sale like a white pointer smells blood, and will make all sorts of private offers if you're selling on Feebay. You will spend much time fielding questions and offers and maybe lose a potential buyer of multiple items by "getting their back up" so hasten slowly............I find it best on Feebay to offer 'Buy It Now' at reasonable price you expect to achieve backed by Offer which you set to accept slightly less automatically <Accepts their offer automatically when they make it....buyers don't generally know this happens...> also tick the box that is the price that offers are automatically rejected by Ebay without you getting into a multiple offer war with a bidder....selling by standard auction on Feebay is now an agonising experience with most waiting until the very last second to even place a bid or show their interest...rarely now will you achieve the price by auction you can set with 'Buy It Now'..I find collectors seeking very desirable knives will commit to a Buy It Now rather than compete with bargain hunters over 7/10 days.....Selling on Forums is a dreadfully slow affair waiting for someone to even see your advert let alone bid/offer for it......plus if they feel they know you they want a ""deal"".....which usually translates to you selling far less than it is even worth on Feebay..false economy with no fees IMO....
I have tested the theory by selling a complete Mint set of 74/75 GDOT <4 knives in the set> 70th Anniversary knives on Feebay..I achieved only a fraction of the value I received when I sold the next mint set individually...I also sold other complete sets with similar disappointing results compared to individual sales results....two reasons I feel...some buyers already had a knife or two in the series and didn't want the lot unless they went for a bargain...other reason is buyers have enough for one knife at a time in their budget generally speaking, and whilst they desire the lot they simply can't buy them......
Feebay has the high fees however also appeals to the widest potential buyer demographic group...in Australia and U.S.....the potential buyers of USA Schrade items...
Collector wise we would all like to see groupings/sets kept intact however it really is impractical since the global meltdown invariably meant less available funds for "luxury" items like buying knife collections...no matter how strong our desire...reality takes over....
My thoughts anyway based on my own experiences..I still have Schrades in my collection but I now limit my Schrade collection to just the core of my scarce/<desirable to me> Schrade collecting gained over many years..similar to you Grey Menace............Good luck mate....Hoo Roo
