Roland posted this nice Senator pattern with the odd number scheme on the back of the little spear blade. I recall this was discussed a while back... 36/250

Did someone come up with what those numbers meant? I could not find the old thread, nor could I remember. I agree with Roland, it the numbers are a bit perplexing.

Here is a 3 1/8" Senator pattern "Scissors Knife" which is shown on page 37, Cat. E, 1926 as pattern 8456T.

On the pile side Master tang is stamped: 36/250

This would seem to indicate the 36th knife in a run of 250, but i have never seen a Schrade Cut. Co. knife stamped like this. Also this exact pattern is shown in Cat. E, so why a special serialized run ?
It is a nice knife.

Hal, thanks for this thread. I posted in "Latest" but did wonder if there would be enough interest for a separate thread.
The Schrade Cutlery Co. knives are quite distinct from most of the Schrade-Walden ones and from all of the Schrade U.S.A. knives, such that maybe we could have a thread "Latest Schrade Cut. Co. Knife". This would be a handy additional reference thread.

Those numbers interest me. I figured the topic might get buried in the "Latest Schrade" thread. Seem maybe Eric and Michael, and maybe Brady were in on the discussion of those numbers.
