I've looked through a lot of old catalog pictures and so far cannot figure out exactly what it is I have. In the 1926 catalog, the closest thing I found that more or less resembles this knife is a 1157 3/4. But it is not really that. It looks pretty much the same in shape and the handle style. Has the words SCHRADE on both sides like you see in the 1157 image. It has the clip pocket blade design. Where it differs: the closed length is 5 inches and the blade is 4 inches, so when open, 9 inches from blade tip to the butt end. Also in the 1157 style picture, the bone material is held to the body with 3 rivets. My specimen has 4 rivets. No doubt it is a very old Schrade. After scrolling through catalogs and supplements I failed to find it. I have a photo if anyone wants to see it. I'm considering putting it up for sale but not until know what to call it model-wise and determine some value to it. Anyone with some insight would be appreciated.

Here's a shot of the daddy barlow Hal referred to:

Dandy Daddy Barlow Eric! Lets toss in an Ulster Dwight Divine, probably from the same era, give or take a decade... I notice the clip blades are a little different.

Sorry...I just figured out how to patch together a composite photo and get it up from a URL location I transferred it to. Yes --- looks a lot like the photos posted here...thanks for taking a "stab" at it.

Hal, that's an interesting Ulster! The blade looks the same to me, just "straightened" a bit from careful sharpening. And handle rivet location is slightly different.

By different, I was thinking the part of the spine creating the "clip" is a short distance to the tip. Not short in total blade length. It is an very well made knife with a thunderous snap. There is a half stop on the blade too.
