Can anyone tell me the model of this knife, and possibly where I can get a spring for it? Of course along with any other info.....

Your knife appears on page 37 of Cataloge E and supplements reprint. It is a 8453T Scissors Knife, Senator Pattern. The spring appears to be a simple single leaf spring. I would think that a lot of makers/embelishers of these older slipjoints could make a repalcement spring, particularly since the stub end of the original survives to be copied.

Unless you can find the same pattern with a broken blade, the spring will have to be re-made from scratch. There are a few people with hoards of knife parts, so I guess you could go on a "quest". Nice knife, probably worth fixing.

I know the post I am responding to is old, but did you ever find a spring for the scissors in the 3453T. I may be able to help you if you still have the knife and no soring has been found.

Please don't hesitate to add to / revive any post, regardless of the age when you have a question or an answer! Besides, we've been known to breathe life into posts months and even years old, so a few days is still relatively fresh!

No, still looking. I'm thinking I can fashion one, if I can find material the right thickness. I thought a 106 spring might work, but it is a litte short. Always grateful for any help.

How about buying a chinese 'swiss army knife' for a couple of bucks and using the spring from that.
