Not too many of these around. The run of 500 stopped at 52, when as you all know, Imperial Schrade closed it's doors on July 30, 2004. This one was delivered on July 14, 2004. Full etch and correct serial number, not one of the "unissued, no etch, no serial number" ones that are described as rare. This one's the real deal. Documented by delander (Del).

Very nice find.
Here is a picture from the 04 web page

Schrade’s working partnership with world renowned custom knife maker D’Holder, has culminated in the design and creation of a five piece Centennial Set, saluting Schrade’s 100th Anniversary. The fourth knife in the set is a classic. This fixed blade features a handsome Red English Walnut handle. Nestled in the handle is a Whitetail relief insert, designed exclusively for Schrade by noted wildlife sculptor Bruce Shaw. This integral design features beautiful hand polished 440C steel. Each knife is serialized. Production is limited to only 500 pieces. Made in the USA.

Bump.

I found this thread looking for information on this knife and the rest of the series. I have 4 of them, each with a different animal. They are the Ram, Elk, Whitetail and Bear. All are numbered, and as I understand it the Whitetail only had 50 made. Mine is stamped as number 41.

What would be the best way to list and sell them? As a group? Separately? Through eBay? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Tad Furtado.
I have been a Schrade Pocket knife collector since 1973. A friend in the USA sent a Schrade D’holder to me, some years after they close their doors.
Over the years I collected another two D’holders.

Re: your question;
First I have a $30 copy of one of the last D’holders, that was made in China; that does not help.

I have seen sellers on eBay, trying to sell sets of Schrade D’holders for $1000; that never look to sell.
D’holder knives come up for sale from time to time, and it looks like they never sell for the $300 to $500 listed prices.

I have been asking WHY these knives do not sell well, since I first received my first D'holder
To add to my question Why, all the knives made by MR. D’holder; sell for many thousands of dollars.

I have been told, the Schrade Loveless knives sold for almost $1000 after Mr. Loveless past-away – these days they sell for $150 to $250.
There is less interest shown in the Lake and Walker knives made in 2000. Again I would like to know why. KG
