I was wondering about the collectibility of these knives and if in your opinion they will increase in value in the years to come.

I have a SDH1 which was the first in the series and mine is also marked first production -one of 500. The first 500 of only 1000 made were marked this way.

IMO this is the finest knife ever made by Schrade in terms of fit, finish and materials. BG-42 steel, tapered tang, Sambar stag scales and custom quality fit and finish.

What is your opinion Schrade collectors. I have not seen much talk about these knives.

Thanks.

Just hang on here and Del will be in with more information than you can imagine on all things Schrade-D'Holder including links to pictures of the whole series. I also have the SDH-1 in the first production run and while I don't have a clue as to current value, I do know mine has appreciated quite nicely based on my aquisition price.

In my opinion, these are very fine knives. SM/BR has done a lot of damange insofar as collectability and values go. They have taken knives from the "room" and passed them off as being knives that have passed Schrade quality control.
I don't see much gain in value over the shorter term, unless the 'providence' is with the knife (I would consider a 'Bill of Sale' or receipt of purchase dated prior to July '04 as such).
My opinion only.
