Hi Everybody; New member with a question I'm sure not the first. I've always liked knives since I was a kid and bought a very nice Engraved Uncle Henry Golden Spike 153uh made in USA with the number 006 on the top of the blade guard. Both brass bolsters are engraved with a very nice design. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about it? I'm not an avid collector but do like a good knife and also have a few nice automatics as well. Thanks in advance for any information and I have already enjoyed looking at the forums and reading about others appreciation for a nice blade. I've looked all over the web and cold find nothing else like this engraved knife. I also read the rules and deleted the mention of any prohibited language, I never meant to break your rules, Sorry. Happy

Hi from Australia, nice knife. I have never seen one like that before; someone may come along, that has seen one before.
This forum is for collectors, so we tend to talk about the RRP when the knife was sold by Schrade.

Made by Schrade from 1973 to the last one made in 2004 -RRP $69.95.
That knife would sell well on eBay.
There is quite a number of sellers trying to sell them from $45 to $230.
No one is buying; just lots of hopeful sellers... Ken

That's an older one from around 1973 given the low serial number (earlier years would be a SCHRADE WALDEN). Since it is stamped SCHRADE, not SCHRADE+, it's carbon steel (with the thicker steel) not stainless steel. I have not seen that engraving on the butt and on the guard. Not sure if the engraving is original or done after market. Very nice. Does it have any paperwork in the box?

That serial number is not the type for the regular run of knives; it is a SFO serial number.

Thanks guys; There is no paper work in the box or info ON the box, I was told it was 1 of 100 when I bought it but cannot prove that by the box anyway. I'm not sure what the initials written in the above post mean? I'm more of a gun collector but still have many knives from my early youth. I also have one of the newer made Golden Spikes and there is "NO" comparison to this one in weight and feel, this one is superb in its feel. Thanks so much and I will continue to check back, Thank You,, Happy

I have seen a few of these over the years, so it is definitely not a one-off customization. I don't have any information on their genesis though. Sorry.
