could it be the sc502 sharpfinger? Dont see one with a bear/cougar.
Do see a bear/dog and bear/fish and a polar bear and a cougar all standard productions in Delrin. Would love to see a photo.
Thanks

Here is a bear and wolf SC524 : 6561871807
I see a two bear 507SC in 1989, and a two bear 524SC in 1988. Oddly, the catalogs I have list the "SC" prefix after the model number, while some knives I see have the "SC" identifier first.

I note that a scrim stamp has been reused several times on different patterns. The whitetail deer head scrim on my 154 pattern SC501 was also used on 502SC 152 pattern scrim editions, and maybe some others.

I used to think that all scrimshaw issues were 500 series numbers, but I have since seen them with 100 series and 200 series. I think we did a list of scrims and dates sometime in the past, but I can't remember when or how we titled it. And it was far from complete if I remember right. Someone better at forum searches than me?

On page 166 of Levine's Guide #4, there is a partial list of Schrade Scrimshaws. It only goes through 1996, when that edition was published, and as LT once said, it would be a daunting task to unearth all of the models and variants... (I think it was LT...if not, I apologize in advance and will take my beating for misquoting someone).
This list does not show prefixes or suffixes, just pattern numbers, with a 296 trapper being the only non 500 series. But as Codger said there are other non 500 scrimshawed patterns. "Before and After", as it were, seems to be inconsistent but correct as far as the SC identifier. I just picked up a 505 scrim (with no scrim) and the SC is a suffix.

Just trying to add a bit here.

El Lobo, you are right again as usual. I did a bit of archive surfing to refresh my memory. There were so many different scrims made over the year that it would be very difficult to list, much less acquire them all. Not even including all the factory special orders.

A doable approach might be to collect a year set. Or a one-of-each-pattern set. A animal subject set (like "bears"). Or even all of one pattern set. Still, the latter miight be a years long task.

I have a SC501 no-scrim with black handle and blank shield.
