Is the 1580 T the only Schrade fixed blade out there with a gut hook? I am looking to help replace one that a colleague lost as a Christmas present. I can't really go back to him to describe it more, since I don't want to give away the fact I am trying to replace it. All he has told me is fixed blade, leather sheath, gut hook. I would guess it wasn't a terribly old one, but not brand new either. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Just a couple of FYIs:

Schrade went out of business in 2004 and the company was dissolved. The 'new' Schrades are made in China and imported by Taylor Brands, who now owns the Schrade trademarks.

Secondly, the "1580 T" is actually "158OT", as in Old Timer #158. That might help in your search.

If you're interested in buying a genuine Schrade Old Timer 158OT, the best place to look is eBay. The real Old Timers have SCHRADE USA stamped on the blade along with the model number.

Since Schrade-USA went out of business, you might consider looking at Buck Knives. They have several guthook hunting knives and are still made in the USA.

Happy Shopping!
