Schrade honesteel and knife

I was gifted these two beauties recently:







I read that new Old Timer honesteels tend to have very rough or uneven finishes that can make the edge of the blade worse than before. I think this might be one of the original batches before the company changed hands and the finish is uniform. It hones up the edge very well.

Looks like. 1980's OLD TIMER box to me.

Either way just based on the knife Being a US made knife and the impression i get from the condition of the leather ( it just looks like it's been around over 15 years ) I'm 99% sure this is original and not a Taylor Chinese made Schrade product.
