Schrade Imperial Ireland variation.

New member. Recently purchased 10 (more) Schrade Imperial Apex Hunters. I guess I just like them for their no nonsense design and closeout prices. At any rate--three of them have "Vernon/Ireland/Stainless" in three lines instead of the more familiar "Schrade/Ireland/Stainless" stamped on the blade. I found an English foundry named "Vernon", and I assume the blades were made at that factory and inserted into the typical Black Zytel handle of the Apex Hunter at the Schrade Ireland facility. I have just started accumulating Schrade fixed blades and was wondering if anyone has any infomation on these blades.

Lots of information here. Found a reference to European Inox as the steel used in the Apex blades, but no mention of Vernon.

One thing (of many) that I have learned both in this forum and in the Bernard Levine forum is to not assume that the name stamped or etched on the knife is the manufacturer. Quite often it is the retailer (merchant)... Vernon.
