Hey everyone I'm new here so don't know if I'm in the correct area but here goes. I recently was given a Shrade IXL. One side of the knife has an alligator with with a silver engraving of S.B. Hubbard. It also has a #021. On the other side of the knife has a picture of what appears to be an Indian with a gun and another alligator at his feet. For what I could find think the knife is a lockback, its in a case with sheath also says wostenholm Sheffield England in the box. My question is does anyone have anymore info or how much it could be worth, anything would be a great help thanks in advance.

Chey2:

Welcome! A picture might help out quite a bit. It does not sound like a Schrade IXL knife that I am familiar with, if a Schrade at all. Most all Wostenholm knives were just that, and not Schrade collaborations. Condition, how many blades (likely 1), pattern, size, handle materials, and desirability all play a role in the value. Your knife sounds interesting.

Interesting knife. Looks like a special order. Is that handle bone or is it plastic? I've never seen this one before. It looks like a special run based on the 021 serial number. Good looking scrimshaw, but the shield is obnoxious over te top of the scrim.

Thanks for posting the pics. The handle is bone. I haven't been able to find any other info online anywhere, any other ideas of where I could get some more info?

Not sure anywhere else, but now that you have pictures up, give it a couple days. I think it is really interesting. Do you see an artists name?

Either way a great story I am about 200 miles sw of Jacksonville. The knife came from a good friends grandmother which do own hardware stores for many years. Thanks for taking time to post that link, still wondering if it has any value.

I would think it would bring around $50 on Ebay maybe more or less, depending on the day. It seems fairly unique, which isn't always a good thing on a quick sale. It is a very well made knife.
