Can anyone tell me, what was the last price The Jim Zumbo 1 ELK retailed for, and the years they were produced, I have seen these on sale for prices that vary between $20.00 & as much as $80.00
Thanks

Yes, the Schrade Jim Zumbo 1Elk. A portion of the proceeds went to the RMEF. 10 3/4" OA, 440C steel, $89.95 MSRP made just 1998-02. The TPR handle is the same as the X-Timer series. In fact, Taylor is now making them as a blackend knife and calling it an X-Timer.

The MSRP remained the same for the five years it was produced.

Thanks for the quick answer Codger, Saw one in a harware store in Harrisburg PA a few weeks ago, They wanted $45.00 which I didn't think was too bad, I'm glad I held up, picked up one on E-bay over the weekend $24.00

thanks

You got a good deal then Rusty! I don't particularly care for sawback and guthook features, but it does look like it could be a good user or keeper.
Since Rusty didn't post a picture of the 1ELK, here is the factory flier showing it.

I don't like to discuss a knife without showing it. (all tell, no show)

And here is the TBLLC chinese copy from their brochure:

I'm not nearly as good at these as you folks are, however.....

I am pretty dadgum sure that isn't a LEATHER sheath shown with the Taylor version...in spite of the written sales pitch...I don't believe it's even from the rare, seldom seen Nauga.

So much for the TBLLC Ad Dept. :grumpy:

You are correct again Bill (on a roll!). These are made from the hide of the nearly extinct, desirable Chinese nylos.

Right, the original was made with hide of the subspecies ballistic nylos, much more eco-friendly.

There is a version of the 1ELK Jim Zumbo with a very substantial leather sheath made by Schrade .
Anyone wanna guess?
I'll post a picture tomorrow.
:D
