I just picked up a Schrade John Adams folder from 1976. It has the blue handles. Any good info about this knife? How limited is it (are they)? Looks to be in unused condition. Stockman pattern. I paid around 40$ for it.

Thanks!

It’s part of a set released for America’s Bicentennial, they were made for Parker by Schrade (actually Imperial), story was he was furious that Schrade put SCC on the back of the blade to let buyers know who made it. There a a good number of them out there, basically a stainless 8OT, good quality edc. Check the Schrade sub forum for more info

Awesome. Thank you. I found some further information after a google delve. Seems like they were rather controversial for the reason you listed. Happy with the buy. It seems like most other specimens are selling for quite a bit more than I paid. I’m just happy to hear it’s of good quality.

My Dad has the yellow one, when I gave him a Boker stockman last Christmas he took it out of his pocket. I know he's had it since the 70's, but he carried a Vic huntsman for many years. He wore out the Vic and started carrying the Parker/Schrade. He has several knives like that, he may own it forever seems like but not carried much. They're kinda "in reserve ".
