As found....

I've always been a sucker for the look of these .... Staglon handles...
4"... clip point , spey , and sheepsfoot stainless blades. (all look
to have had some grinder victim abuse ). Net indicates available from
early 70's to early 2000's. Will have no problem being an EDC. Even
bride thinks this knife has a "classic" look.

I found at the Swap meet...gave $15..which I considered fair market
value based on condition (obvious grinding) and completed net sales.
Now, onto cleaning, lube, and sharpening. No regrets on this purchase...
even with many available. In a "perfect world" would have preferred carbon
steel. Now made in China...with a very similar look (but different
nomenclature).

edit.... just read where you could buy a "new" Schrade + King Ranch for
m.s.r.p. of approx. $45 on their last day of availability (early 2000's) ....
not much different than N.O.S. get now on the net.

Ha ! I will see if I can devise a way to return the remaining steel to a reasonable
facsimile of the original conformation. If not... still a functional knife... with very
cool looking covers and bolsters.

...might have looked at this one with my heart and not my head. ...but, everyone
I've shown it to that is not "in to" knives thinks it's beautiful. Maybe i just need to
accept this survivors reality.

Oh it’s still a very cool user. And aesthetically pleasing in its own way. And the heart is usually why we pick up the ones we do. If we all just used our heads, we’d all have SAK’s or opinels and the forum would be but one sub forum!

Nice old pocketknife that obviously gave its previous owner many years of dependable service. OH

When I see a well used knife I always wonder how it got that way and what it was used for. If it could talk, would it have some interesting stories to tell? Maybe it repaired a fuel line on a bush plane in Alaska? Took care of a few deer, because that’s the only knife the hunter took? Wired a house, or cut out caulking to replace a door? Or just took some guys grandkids fishing whenever they saw him....

Much wisdom here....need to appreciate this knife for what it is... not what it isn't.
Good reminders . Thanks .

Update.... due to the altered morphology (shortening) of each of the blades (grinding) they all
sat proud. (especially the spey !). After making sure it wasn't due to schmutz in the slots (there
was some) I took a small file to each of the tang nubs... slow wins the race. Dozens of open and
closings for each blade , small increments of metal removal. The goal was all three blades closing
without any potential snag on exposed tips yet still be able to use the nail nicks to open the blade.
Success glad I took my time (about an hour , including clean and lube). I like the way it looks and
works.
