Hi, I'm new here this is my first post.
I have a Schrade National Park Service 75th Aniversary 1916-1991 Knife and would like to know it's value.

Thanks

Jim

I generally go by Ebay, and it kinda sets the market price. Even then, it can go up and down, depending on how bad someone wants something at given moment, That being said, I bought one NIB about nine months ago for around $35 plus shipping.

Mountainwind,

Thanks for the advice. This one doesn't have a box, and has some stains on the metal from the leather sheath, but to my knowledge has never been used.

Thanks again

There were three different variations that I know of. One with oak handles, one with white scrim handles and one with stag handles. There might be more, so depending on which handles you have would affect the value as well.

The one I have has the white scrim handle with a buffalo.

Thanks

Jim

I believe the knife you have is on the right. The one on the left is the oak handled. I believe there were less of the oak ones made than the scrim handled ones and fewer yet of the stag handled ones (not pictured). The other pic is the boxes that the knives came in, with the scrim being a cardboard box and the oak being a wooden box. Of course, I have them switched in here because I put them back wrong after wiping them down. Obviously, the ones that less were made of would generally command a higher price but with Ebay, all common sense goes out the window.

LOL, you're right again Michael. I put them in the wrong boxes! Sweet Fancy Moses.....I don't know if it's cause I'm getting older or just getting too many knives! You know, I just couldn't figure out why they wouldn't put the oak handled knife in the oak box but then I figured, well, that's Schrade. Now I know it's me and not Schrade

There are simply too many patterns, commems and variants to remember them all. That is why Larry built the Collectors-of-schrades-r.us site. When in doubt... look it up. I do!

There is one more 5 pattern I know about for the NPS.
they have a wooden handle like the NPS1 and a buffalo on the blade.
Its called the NPS4. Made 3 years after the 75th
Man I wish I had them all.

To add to the confusion, there's also the "Ranger Edition" of the stag and wood handled NPS's.

Here's a picture of the above knife:

Yes it's the same as the one on the right. It's a nice little knife I plan on keeping it. Was curious to see what it is worth.

Thanks

Michael,
Im a long way from being done. only 2 down. 2 daughters and 1 son to go..
The stag version is called the NPS2.
The NPS4 has the same blade as the NPS2 but has the NPS1 wood (fiberon) handle.

Oh yeah. But see, you're almost there! And you have hair left! (unlike some of us). And... and you have a real mancave with your own private computer that no one else is allowed to crash or load with unknown cookies!

My two youngest turn sixteen shortly. Soon they will be eighteen and fending for themselves. And I'll be ...free? Except... it appears I may soon have custody of my five and seven year-old grandkids. I don't expect to be around when they make eighteen. I need more knives. Now.
