What do you think about the Schrade knives now on EBAY that are stamped Schrade USA Old Timer and Uncle Henry but have had the wooden handles added after the factory closed?

I've added wood handles to 2 of my schrades that i carry because i just dont like the delrin. First is 108ot in white oak with an antiqued stain look, and the second a 194ot in curly pear wood. Both woods came from my firewood pile.

As far as older schrades going up for sale with wood I'm fine with it as long as the modification is listed as part of the description.

They were unfinished blades left over from the factory liquidation sale, recently shipped overseas to have pakkawood handles added with small brass rivets. I have no idea of the quality of assembly. Most Schrade collectors consider them aftermarket and not collectable. A few people who bought them stopped in here to express their disapointment with them and then went on to find an original example. They might be allright as a user. I really don't know.

Chinese pakkawood, Chinese brass rivets, Chinese brass cross guards, Chinese composition something sheaths....hanging on blades discarded in bins at the clearance sale...many with Tang stamps that had not been made for years....you have to wonder why they were tossed or even whether they were correctly finished.....I'm really greatly unimpressed with them.....would I risk my life in the harsh Australian bush with one of those ""things""...no way...why would you when the' Real Deal' are still available.?...you see one ""popular"" flogger of them on Ebay gradually raises the prices each month on his mis-described offerings with Schrade box's to further deceive....very soon they will exceed the Real Deal prices.....still the Lemmings hurl themselves at them at any price....go figure....... Hoo Roo...

There is a "100% mint PH2" for sale on eBay now.
The seller states:

"Here is a vintage Schrade PH2 USA drop point Hunting/Skinning knife & sheath in mint condition!!!
This knife has never been used carried or sharpened, its 100% mint!! Knife has a superior edge, brass bolster guard & beautiful wood handles!!!
Please use pictures for details!! "
There all on eBay and with the wooden handles

It dose sound nice with those "beautiful wood handles". However, I would like the seller to tell me what is ment by "100% mint"
This is a Beautiful unfinished Schrade blade, made in the USA; with "beautiful wooden handles" made and finished in China... Ken
Its' about 40% mint; maybe. And could be OK for a user, at half price or 50% discount Some sellers are asking $125 for these knives.

This PH2 came from the factory, in a box. With-out the " beautiful wood handles" from China

Hi Old Mate, have a look at the one with the:
"Tang stamp SCHRADE+ PH2 U.S.A." with the "CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY - MADE IN USA - NO BOX"

I left a small post in "traditional," which may be germane... or not... as you choose.
