Okay guys, I scored this 1979 Schrade LB7 from an antique mall last weekend for $5. The previous owner had etched his initials into the bolsters fairly deep. So I layer it down on a belt sander and thinned each side down until all the engraving was gone. I then used the roller end on the belt sander and cut finger grooves into the handle. I really love the feel of this knife now. All in all, I believe this is a great $5 knife now

Thanks! It's stupid sharp now too. I also scored a 2 dot 112 at the same place for $5. The blade was sharpened to a nub but the handle was in great shape. So instead of trying to repair this one myself, I sent it to the factory for a brand new blade.
