i can find no info. on a Schrade knife (older ?); stockman pattern with Liberty bell as shield and clip blade tang: S.W. CUT./LB1 U.S.A.; pen and spey blades have STAINLESS on "back side" tang.
how can this be LB1 ? does anyone know about a Liberty knife or series ? thanks

thanks guys. for some reason "search" did not show Codger's informative article. just when i think i'm beginning to know my way around Schrades a little, i come across editions, tang stamps, etc. that show me how little i know. Schrade may be closed, but there is still such a huge variety of their knives out there, that collecting them is never going to get boring.

O.K., i will be more imaginative when using search. in this case the knife was listed only as "Liberty", but the shield is Liberty Bell, even as a Canadian, i recognize that. so, gotta expand my mind; less straight line thinking!

If you've a mind to acquire a copy of Levine's 4th edition let me know, as I have one that might be available. (delah@telus.net)
