I have a I* X L still in box with certifcate of origin and registration slip.It was my fatherinlaw's.The paper with it said it is the first I* X L being introduced,it is a three bladed stockman's style.Any help with what year and what it is worth greatly appreciated.THANKS

A picture is worth a thousand words. . . .maybe more. No one can truly answer your question without a picture, but it SOUNDS like a re-issue of the brand.

I found my magnifying glass and was able to read them. Thanks! I just may have to find one to add to my large lockback collection but as usual, I'm a little confused. If I read it right, isn't it under 5" and wouldn't that make the LB7's larger? I'm sure I'm confused as usual.:o

5"? Your LB-7's are 5"?? Yeah, I know that's what the literature says but... mine is actually bigger than yours. :D

Nope you are correct. The LB7 is larger. Where is the confusion..
I said large not the largest :D

Check out this little article on the IXL's

There is a couple of displays of your LTD in the same folder.
I do have a couple more in the 1980's section of the flyers.

This is one BIG folder. I believe it is the largest Schrade ever offered

Larry

I am confused......and I must not be reading the last sentence correctly. I thought the "I believe it is the largest Schrade ever offered" meant it was the largest Schrade ever offered.

Yes, Codger, mine is ony 5".....my wife asked me "who are you gonna please with that"? I told her, "Me" :D :D

The LTD IXL may be the largest "stockman"
The M40 is a large "lockback"
I hate email.. I tend to write like a programmer. Only in the current tense.. Wish we could all get together in person and "discuss" all these knifey things.

Thanks Larry! Now that makes sense. Even though the IXL is only 4 3/4" I'll probably have to find one now for my large lock back collection.

Your idea to get together and talk is a great one Larry. Kind of a Schrade Collectors Meeting. I'm not nearly as loopy in person as I am online.:p

Thanks!

I know it is not a Schrade but talking size,I have a lovely 8 1/4 inch 3 blade stockman/canoe knife..Frost cutlery solingen steel.Timber handles and the main blade is only 5 3/4 inches long..
