Does anyone have any money left? Just kidding, this knife was just listed on eBay and is NIB. I have no connection with it, just pointing it out for those who have been looking for one of these beauties:

I saw it it is a beaut. I have a few, this is a first edition nice and complete. These are pieces for people who want an investment I do not see these ever losing money. With the economy down I wonder what this will bring. Just for the heck of it I will throw a bid on it I have been eyeing it You can never have enough of these. The second edition was identical except for the marking on the blade. Notice the brass silver rivet. That is the same style brought back for the Columbus issue bought by Big Heart. Feel free I am Just poping in a bid for Ha Ha. LT

Go for it LT, I hope you get it. You don't see many of these as complete as this one. Weren't these issued as __ of 1000, or am I thinking of a different knife? I thought the serial number was engraved in the brass guard but the seller doesn't make any mention of it.

I put a bid if it goes for what I bid it is a steal. Any way here are some pics of a first edition and a second edition do not let the giant quarter in the pic throw off the perspective The top is the second ed. the rest are PH-2 models. Chances are they put out a numbered edition first they usually did but I am not sure. I was not going to pull my first ed out to check. one and two are the same except for the etch. LT

I have had one of these for 27 years.

Back in 1977 I had a Schrade Factory Rep in my store for a Show.
I really liked the Schrade-Loveless DP that he had on display, and at the end of the day I talked him into selling it to me.

I really like the knife, but it has only been used 3 times in the field.

Welcome to the forum, Pointer. That is a great knife. I have several different verisons of it, (SCM with burgundy handle and SCM2 with Ivory colored) but held off bidding on this one. The first collaboration between a custom maker and a Production company, although I have been led to understand the relationship between Loveless and Schrade somehow ended badly.

Loanded mine to a local doctor a few years back, and of course, he Lost it. Still have the box, and paper work. The L.C.Finger colab, with Schrade predated it by only a couple of years, But Finger never got the proper credit. Althouth Schrade did call it the Little Finger. Kinda into Loveless Knives!!! http://home.earthlink.net/~michaellovett/

What kind of Dr. is he? Hope you were able to trade services for the value of the knife.

I have searched for references to L.C. Finger, but only found one guthook knife credited to him with reference to his being from Corpus Cristi Texas. The 156OT Little Finger is a nice small knife, and I used one on a deer last year to test it out. I was not aware that it was a collaboration though. I always assumed that it was a continuation of the previously introduced "Sharpfinger" name. Can you give us any more info on this connection?

I am waiting for one I just bought on ebay with light brown wood handles. Said it is new but no box or papers. It is the smaller version. Paid $42.00. Is that good?

Hiya Dannyv. Probably the Oak handled one, I think make for Ducks Unlimited. If it is smaller, it is the fine little Ph-2 model. Actually a better size for gutting whitetail and mule deer than the larger ones. I have a bunch of different handled PH2 issues, and what you paid is right there in the ballpark. Good deal on a fine knife.

Yes, that what it is. oak handled PH2. Know where I can get a sheath for it? Thanks.

Just got the oak handled Loveless in. in. It does not say anyhting about being a PH2. One side is blank and on the other SCRADE+ USA LTD.It is abeauty!!. ;)

The Dr. Is an Eye DR. and long time hunting companion. I used to own and archery store here in Killeen Tx. Until Desert Storm relieaved me of it. The Doc, and I do trade a lot. L.C. finger had his day in the sixties. Also made a model with a round, hole, or ring in it right before the handel. It was copied widely. You can find him listed in the old Knives Digest. There were others. Dic Drough, Harvy McBurnett, and Mr. Fuller, worked with my dad at Good-Year, in Gadsden Ala. Fuller lost his hand in an accident at work. They developed the first forward lock. Sent the desighn to Gerber when Al mar and kershaw worked there as desighn eng's. The desighn came out in Kershaw's line, and also Mar's lines when they opened their own companies. Not one of the companies paid the desighners for they'er efforts, until legal action. The three together could afford to pursue the matter. Whish I could say the same. I , and others would go after Cold Steel in a heart beat.
