I got an older LB7 and thought of just playing around and disassembling it in the shop. I thought I'd start by pressing the blade pivot pin out but I think it will have to be drilled. If any of you Schrade guys take 'em apart I'd like to know the ins and outs. Just for my own curiosity anyway since I only have on beat up LB7 that is pretty ground down. Still has life in it and could use a new blade. Anyhow, it's my latest experiment since I'm bored after my surgery and stuck home.

Hedger,
You will most likely have to drill the pin on the LB-7.
I find there is too much taper in the holes to drive the pin out without damaging the bolsters.

I posted a break down of the 6OT in another thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=667696
That may be helpful in seeing what you are dealing with.

The LB series and the 6OT & 7OT are all pretty much alike internally. There some variations as noted in the other thread, but I have parts for most of the changes, including blades.

Send me an email if you get stuck & I will send you my phone number and see if I can walk you through any problems you encounter.

I have been buried in the shop for the last month, trying to get caught up on my customer's repairs and getting ready for a show, so I think I have only been on BF once in that time. I guess I will get caught up on BF after the show.

Let me know if I can help you or answer any questions.

Dale

Thanks for the reply orvet. This is an old beat up one so not too concerned how it turns out. Just for fun and learning. I'd like to get to know these knives better. I just love 'em. Nothing else comes close in the line of traditional folders.
