Thank you. Here is the truck the tailgate is attached to.

Old and beat up but I love it. :D

Shewt! That one is still in it's prime! If you ever wondered where the "64" in my forum I.D. comes from, it refers to my as yet unrestored heirloom truck, my Dad's '64 Ford Custom Cab. I have a '67 Custom Cab Ranger also, but currently use an 88 Chebby with nearly 300,000 miles on it as a work truck. Gotta love old trucks! And old Schrades!

Yep. Nothing like old trucks and old Schrades. But none of my Schrades are all that old. :o

:D

Sounds to me like you need an early 15OT or 34OT. That puts you in 1964. Or an early 165OT matches a '67 Ford. But if you like cars, the Mercury Turnpike cruiser matches the 58OT, or even an early 8OT if you like the '59 Edsel. But then there are the George Schrades and the Schrade CutCos and the... well, you get the idea!

Cool truck! It's even older than mine; mine's a '94.

The biggest consumer mistake of my life: I once bought an 80-something F150, took it home, but hated it. The thing shifted like a farm tractor and used a half-tank of gas just driving home from the dealership. So I took it back and traded for a '92 Dodge. What A Freakin' POS!!! I kept that Dodge nine months, and it was in the shop for 55 days.

I have an 7OT also. I think the only OldTimer lockback I'm missing is the 9OT. It's like the 6OT/7OT, but with a guthook.

Best Wishes,
-Bob

Yep. Sounds about right. Shifting my ol' Ford is an art. I felt like I was having to learn how to shift a manual all over again when I bought her. And most of my vehicles have had standard transmissions. She also guzzles gas. But I love her anyways. :D

The Dodge was beautiful! And when it was working, it really kicked butt. The thing is, it wasn't running often enough to suit me. :(

Our '94 F150 has had some small 'glitches' lately, but since she has 160,000 miles I can't complain. And any repair/maintanence is a "business expense" anyway. I'd rather feed the mechanic than the IRS... :)
