First, Hello. I'm a casual collector. Very casual. Never posted. I just usually glean for information. But I went looking to replace all my lost fishing gear. Found these knives at the local hardware store.
I heard Schrade was no longer made in the US, plus the price was right for these.
1460T Flex Filet with Safe-T-Grip 22.95
1470T Pro Fisherman with Safe-T-Grip 24.49

Both made in the USA. (from local hardward store with all boxes, sheaths, and paperwork.)

I'd post an image but haven't figured out how to attach it.

Did I do good?
At the very least, I got some good gear.

I think you did just fine if they are the old Schrade stuff. I have one of their walnut handled folding filet knives (Model MA6) that I bought shortly after they went out of business. It's real nice and possibly too nice to put in a tackle box.

They are stamped with the USA on the blade and flag on the box. They come with a note from the old CEO.

I really like the handles, nice lanyard hole. Big fat grippy handles. Sheaths are made out of nylon and plastic. The old kind of nylon you really don't see anymore. More of a thicker, lose weave.

Same store has an older version of a Spyderco Sharpner that has been on the shelf so long, the plastic blister pack has yellowed.

Years ago when times were a bit different you could find old Colts (guns) in those hardware stores that have been collecting dust for 10 or 20 years. Often the marked price was consistent with when they first got them. Felt almost like stealing sometimes.

Glad you're happy with these two fillet knives. You going to use them? The Rapala filet knives that I feel sure are made in China aren't bad.

About 10 years ago I bought my buddy a stag-handled USA-made Schrade fillet knife for something like $25 off of ebay, new in box. Wish I would have gotten one for myself too! Maybe I'll go see if there are any available...
