This has obviously not been well cared-for...but it's still very sharp. The spine shows multiple impact dents, there's a bit missing at the tip, an' most of the spots on the blade wouldn't polish out if attempted, leaving minor to moderate pitting The grip sooks like Masonite, judging by the fibrous fractures at the butt end in pic 3. The rivets appear to be aluminum, total weight is 5 oz; the tang is ~0.200" thick. There is no marking at the ricasso, nor the usual metal insert on the grip. I tend to doubt Schrade would offer seconds like this, so I'm hoping some of you can say whether any of the above indicates early production, or perhaps even that mine is a knock-off of the original. As always, Thanks for lookin'!

In my opinion no tang stamp indicates a knock-off from somewhere other than China ... Pakistan or India would be my guess on Country of Birth.
As far as I know, the "No Name" gas station and discount knives made by Schrade and Imperial had at least a "Made In USA" tang stamp.

I don't think this is China or Pakistan, That's made from a very thick piece of Blade Stock, I think it is a nice homemade copy from someone who did a relatively good job. Just my opinion when looking at it, why don't you re-tip it, sharpen it and use it- get a Belt sheath for it and that would be a nice carry.

You claim it's sharp, but the 5th pic appears to show the edge flattened out the length of the knife?
