Anyone know anything about this blade? Just saw it on Cabela's site. Looks neat but doesn't give a lot of info. Says it's made of D2 but no thickness or weight.

Edit: Sorry I don't know why I typed in Schrade. It's really from Kershaw. Don't guess I can change the title of my post.

It's a good clearing tool. D2 keeps a great edge. I never owned one, but a friend of mine had one, sold it and purchased the Becker knife and tool (BK9 Becker Field Fixed Blade). I purchased one and it is by far the best bowie i've owned (as far as reliability) the steel is just about 1/4" thick. As far as a survival knife goes. I've beat mine and it won't fail. Overall great knife.

Good luck,

I've found this to be a great knife for the price, in fact, outstanding.
