We have had quite a bit of discussion recently regarding military knives and as always commerative issues. I am attaching some pictures of a bowie pattern Schrade made as the center piece for a display set which was sold honoring the branchs of the service ( during WW II ). I believe the issue was for the 50th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. The pieces surrounding the center piece were stag handled LB-7 patterns. This was a very high end set ( quite expensive so a lot of people did not know they were being made.) I have given most of the LB-7 models to the VFW posts I belong to for raffles but I just cannot part with these Bowies. It has always been the one in the set which I liked the best. I was attempting to put a few items away and do some spring cleaning which turned out to be an exercise in futility. In doing so I ran across a few of these I had stashed when they came out. I really thought it was an exceptional issue. Tell me what you think. By the way please excuse the cat hairs in the pictures. it is another cleanup that I have given up on. Besides I like the cats better than most people. I hope you like the pics. LT.

The pictures are great. Is that gold on the blade? Truly a beautify piece of American craftsmanship. THanks for showing us. How many do you have left?

The blade seems to be some kind of black chrome the etch is in gold. I presently have four. These are in new old stock condition. I guess most of them are (who would use one of these.) Chances are I will keep these stashed until someday if I need an ace in the hole for a swap or whatever. I do not think I will find any more In order to get these you had to buy the whole set, really the Bowie is the lynch pin of the group. Glad you like the pics. LT PS getting a true pic is really a chore with the blade the etch ect, it is nicer in person. One of my favorite Sheath knives and Schrades. See you doubters they can make a nice knife if they want to.

Very nice pieces, LT.

Sadly, I have not been running with the commemorative crowd. I don't usually collect knives because of value, more because I like them. I admire your perseverance in getting all these, because they will be/are worth money.

Thanks for sharing...

Glenn
