I cannot answer your question.
It is funny you ask this question, as I have both of the knives you have posted.
All of my "SS" knives came from the same person.

The Daughter of a Deceased Schrade Salesman, sold me all of the "SS knife" in my collection.
All the knives she sold me, look like they have been engraved by a machine.
Your example looks to have been engraved by hand. Ken.

This ACB8 is marked "SS 45". The ACB knives never made it to production.

Hi Ken,
I found some information from another thread which suggest this is a salesman sample as they used this type of numbering system.
If your knife is to be considered a salesmans sample it will be denoted by the serial bolster, engraving which would be SS and then various other letters identifying it as a specific type of sample , by the time these were manufactured salemans samples were not etched on blades, and tangs were not used for this purpose. ( SS on the tang of an older Schrade was used to denote stainless steel ), Sometimes special multiple displays would all carry 000. Salemans example sets often carried SS and then a number which identified the sales man. Attached is a set of IXL ( Schrade ) marked SS24. The pics are not great but should give an example. Your LB-1 last year was in demand and often brought over a 100 dollars. Which is really quite insane. This was the whim of the buying public on ebay at that time. today I would say up to 40 is good if you want it and especially if it is a Salesmans or sales display. These IXL's were within arms reach which is why I choose them however there are many variations of the SS since they were used for many types of promotions . On the older blade acid etched versions of salemans or display knives there were several other factors which came into play. Of course as was pointed out this comment is made in reference to an american made Schrade.

I also have the bone version of the 80th Anniversary Big Daddy Barlow with the same serial number.
