Okay so I have a question. Does anyone know of a place that sells replacement scales for the schrade schf26? I was carrying my knife to the car to put in my bag for a trip out to my parents and I accidentally dropped it. The concrete scraped up the rubberized handle and tore it down by the lanyard hole. I don't particularly like the rubber handle anyways. I want to replace it with maybe some g10 or micarta because they are just more comfortable to me. I have searched the Internet and have seen all kinds for other knives like ESEE, Tops, etc. but can't seem to find any for schrade. I know schrade isn't a top grade knife but it gets the job done and it's cheap enough to where if it breaks or gets damaged I don't really care quite as much. Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

For the cost of new scales why not just buy the newer, better version? SCHF36. Also available with Micarta handles for a little bit more money.

I considered that. However I'm not finding the one that is offered with micarta. Are they sold separate? Or am I just missing them?

The SCHF10 is the micarta scale version of the F26, same blade with micarta is the only difference.

From what I've seen their micarta is not as good as other brands and that drop would have broke a chunk out if it did that to the TPE. Four days ago I was batoning some wood for a fire and the wood got thick at one point and bent the TPE out, I was surprised it didn't break that scale. It popped right back to shape after I kept driving it through. Them scales are tough, yeah they get some character marks on them but they won't leave a chunk on the ground after a big hit.

Even though I like the Schrade blades I can not reccomend their micarta to anyone, it's not up to par for doing work. It looks like they use paper or cardboard instead of a tough cotton canvas like most other brands use. Just something to keep in mind.

Yeah I read reviews about the micarta being subpar. I was debating buying my own scales and making my own handles since I am pretty crafty, but I don't want to waste the money doing so. Maybe I'll just buy the TPE for now and can always change it out if someone ends up making replacement handles
