Hey guys,

I have been spending some time getting to know this new Schrade "Jessica X", and as much as I am NOT a knife guy, the knife has surprised me quite a bit.

But conveniently, the knife came out near the same time as the Bk21 Reinhardt Kukri, so I thought that I would compare the two, as they are somewhat similar in size and weight.

But with everyone screaming about similarities between the JX and the Bk9 and even 4 (the similarities are only skin deep, and barely that), I thought that I had to throw them in as well...

Which had me end up with a Jessica X vs Becker Brawl!

Anyways, in this video, I simply compare handle comfort.

In a previous video I touched up on outright chopping performance, as well as performance by ounce, and performance by dollar.

Check it out, it was a good time.

I bought this knife based on the fact that it made obvious sense to right away

I have a BK9 and I like the knife
However for me my hand / grip is not safe or secure

I had it modified to fit a larger hand
And still did not like the improved version even tho it was a step in the right direction

In part I like the SCHF43 as it is very close to the handle design of the Cold Steel Spartan
Which is one of the main reason I have the knife [Spartan]and is my EDC

I had the opportunity to take the SCHF43 to the South Pacific / Vanuatu rain forest
An use it in a everyday practical setting [as intended]

Your hand stay secure in the handle and the forward blade design works flawlessly

I've noticed several postings by people bashing the knife because it looks "ugly" or some how liking the knife means
That if you like the SCHF43 that you must hate the BK9
Or that it should have been made by a other mfg.

If BK would have made this I would have jumped on it just as quick

Or that the handle "looks uncomfortable" etc. etc.
Unless you have the knife in your hand and you use it / own it your opinion is meaningless

As mentioned I own a BK9 yet never felt like I could really use it without limit
The SCHF43 works VERY WELL

It is my experience that most knife makers focus so much on the blade that they over look the most important part
A good designed knife starts with a excellent handle design to keep the knife owners hand free from injury
Second comes the blade

Perhaps my opinion is based on the fact I have very large hands
Personally I want to keep them free from injury and fatigue

I purchased a second SCHF43 and will be going down to Vanuatu again

Will bring several for the locals who fell in love with it
They use their knifes every day to work and live with

Like people use cell phones everyday
Kudos to Chris Tanner and Schrade for creating a very practical knife

Other makers should follow up with something along the same lines
