A laser would work, but If the knife has any personal value, I'd suggest that you contact a professional scrimshander and get it done so that it matches and compliments the other side of the knife. There are Many scrimshanders out there, and depending on your location I'm sure some of the guys here on the forum can give you contact information. Linda Karst Stone is an artist of considerable note and she lives right here in Kerrville, Texas close to me. You can see examples of her work in many copies of "Blade" magazine as well as the "Knives 2004", 2005, 2006 etc published by Krause Publications. There is also a list of scrimshanders in each of those Knives annuals.
