Recently Half/Stop Half/Stop posted a beautiful 1989 SC505 with the usual "Schrade Scrimshaw" blade etch. I have a similar 1989 SC505, but the blade is marked "Champion's Choice" with the words surrounding the image of a Bull's head. I've seen knives with the same marking as mine on the Internet, but haven't found an explanation for that mark. Anyone have any idea as to the origin of or reason for the Champion's Choice logo? (Mine is now very faded.).

Thanks for posting your knife. The only explanation I can come up with for the Champions Choice etch is a contract advertisement knife. I found this company that makes agricultural salt products Champions Choice.

Thanks, seems like a reasonable theory. In fact, that gave me the idea to look for "Champion's Choice" logos without specifying knife-related and look what turned up:

Mystery solved!

Edit: further research shows that this is the same company you referenced, just a 30 year old version of their logo.
