This should be a great thread. I really like the one with the gas station

I had no idea the Scrims were so varied and interesting!! What great knives!!
The "ivory" is an obvious choice for background, and the red "Gators" is quite startling; were any other backgrounds used?? I think I've seen a few actual bone (maybe not??)?
Were any hand drawn/scratted, or are they all hot-stamped?

Charlie, Schrade did make some bone scrimshaw knives, I know Eric has few.

Most of the Delrin handles were hot stamped, although when Frank did the BFC 2006 knife (above) IIRC he did them by hand.

When Schrade owned the Wostenholm name, they also bought out a few sets with bone Scrimshaw handles, one such set below.

Looks like the IX*L bones were done by hand!
These knives have a rich history. One can't collect everything, but congratulations to you guys who made a nice choice on these!!

Nice scrims guys!!

Russell, you even got LT salivating over that Sears scrim :D:thumbup:

Dave, I believe that Schrade plant scrim was done when they made the move. I don't think there were a whole lot of those made, probably just a couple hundred for employees, nice one!!!

Charlie, there weren't a whole lot done in bone, the IXL nautical ones were bone, done by a guy named Feeney out of New England, I think Maine. There was a daddy barlow done for the Stuyvesant knife in bone, and I've got a small barlow done by Mr G. in bone, but I don't think it ever made it to production:

I have a question about the American Express series. These scrims were done on Micarta, not Delrin. I have seen enough of these to know that there were different signatures on different (say, the Jeffersons), and the art is slightly different. Also, the art on two knives by the same artist is different. This leads me to believe that these knives were done by hand (???!!!) I hope someone knows what is going on here.

So maybe the only Barlow like that in existence by Mr G??????

How about this one that was made for this forum about 4 years ago.
These knives were hand scrimed by Frank Giorgianni Sr., the same fellow who did the artwork for many of the Schrade Scrimshaw series posted above.
I don't recall how many were made, but IIRC, it was less than 20. I think Codger said one time that only 18 were made, but there may have been more.

Dale and Russell, nice Forum knives!! I always regretted not getting one of those, I actually joined here right as they were being distributed, a day late and a dollar short:mad::D:D
No matter though, eventually one will show up, they always do:thumbup::thumbup:

Charlie, you may be right about that scrim, haven't seen another.
