Couldn't find this knife anywhere in this forum, AAPK or Collector site.

I happened to pickup two of them at different times. The first i bought at the local pulga this one frustrated me because I couldnt track down what company had ordered and sold it. Then 90days later one pops up in the Bay and I hook it for a dam good price. Lucky thing is the second one came with an advert showing the vendor and knife. Bingo case solved.

Now for the New Years Eve Trivia game:

Its obviously a 296Y/96OT frame with wooden scales and a custom escutcheon.

You might notice in the first picture one shield says "Limited" and the other "Anniversary" Edition with both the same main blade etching.

Stamped: Schrade+ USA LTD.

Question for you Schradians, Masters and Amatuer collectors alike:

What company sold these for the Year 2000 Millennium?

Hint 500 total knife sets offered.

I'll post a BIG picture clue at 12AM PST. Then reveal the answer tomorrow morning if no one gets it by then. Good Luck.

A retailer from 15+ years ago that had a points system and printed catalog...

Honest, I have no idea. Dick's Sporting Goods for my guess.

Logical guess Bob, but its not a outdoor sporting equipment company.

When I saw the catalog page folded up in the background of the pics of the second knife on the Bay my guess was either Cabelas or Gander Mountain.

Very cool, and thanks so much for sharing that information.
My second guess was SkyMall. Can't win sometimes... :)

No problem Bob W, glad to give back.

I could Never repay in kind for all the great indepth info Ive been a party to here by the contributions of others.

There are several other interesting threads on Betty Crocker schrade knives.

Skymall, now that's one that didn't even come to mind.

I don't get it. I cannot see the retailer's name on the flyer page pictured. And what is " Betty Crocker schrade knives." ?
I remember Betty from the '50's. She was able to get a fluffy cake into a small cardboard box, but i never got a knife in one.

Betty Crocker brand products came with 'coupons' worth 'points' (maybe they still do) that you cut off the retail boxes of cake mix and other stuff. You could save the coupons to spend in the Betty Crocker points catalog, which I recall was an annual mailing.

Imperial Schrade had a big slice of the kitchenware market for years. I have a few TPR handled knives that were never released. Tableware too. I have my mother's Imperial International flatware set. And an Imperial electric knife.

Time for ol' Pinky to make an appearance.

Here is one of my Imperial kitchen knives. It has all sorts of attachments including personal massagers for the wife whose husband is always late for dinner. Meet "Pinky"...

I also have a group of Sears Chrome Vanadium kitchen knives Baer made for Sears, some as old as the early 1940's. A couple of steak knives and "Veri-Sharp" paring knives too. My everyday tableware is Imperial stainless, though I don't recall the pattern name offhand. There were dozens of different patterns. I have some serving spoons also, pierced and plain marketed as "Granny's Spoons".

i have two items for the kitchen. one is a steak knife set (with one missing and if anyone has it please let me know) and the other is a carving set. if you have never used a Schrade steak knife and do you will stop using the serrated knife soon thereafter.

Very nice. Is that a full flat grind on those SW steak knives? Hard to tell with them in the wood block.

On the same note I use A UH 167 from time to time to carve the Thanksgiving Turkey every year much to the delight of family and guests alike.
