I am looking to buy a Sharpfinger that was made in 1983 it is a bear and dog. I bought this knife for my youngest brother and he lost it on a hunting trip. He has said for years he would give anything to have his knife back. Well the best I can do is try to find him another one.
Thanks so much

This Scrimshaw issue was made in good numbers so they show up on eBay regularly. If I am remembering correctly, the 502SC standard production was also made for merchant Kresge (K-Mart) with the art mirrored and stamped on handle left, and the number changed to 205SC, stamped left. So you may find it in either configuration. The proper style sheath would be the one shown below, the second stlye drop in sheath without retainer strap. They came in both brown and black.

Very nice Codger! I'm not the OP or related to him but I sure do appreciate the pictures you put up of a knife I haven't seen for a while. There used to be a lot of guys that would get them out every deer season and ask me to sharpen them. The carbon steel sharpfingers were very nice tools.

You're welcome Joe. It is my favorite pattern of fixed blade knife and I have them in many flavors. It is hard to beat good old 1095 high carbon steel with good heat treat and quench. If you come across one that looks hollow ground, keep in mind that it was produced in the last couple of years of Schrade's existance and is stainless, not 1095HC. I have a very expansive ongoing thread on this pattern in the Schrade Collector's sub-forum in the manufacturers' forum heading. All you could ever want to know about them and then some.
