I received a wonderful gift from my mother-in-law. Her father was a produce manager at Henke & Pillot in Houston, Texas for many years. I am guessing he received this knife from one of his vendors. Unfortunately he passed away before I met his granddaughter, but I have heard great stories about him, especially about his wonderful garden.
The knife has been sharpened, but there is plenty of life left. There is some rusting in the liners, and it had pretty lazy snap when I received it. I quickly cleaned off some of the surface rust and oiled the joints with some mineral oil. Now both blades have an easy pull and nice snap.
The main blade is marked SCHRADE WALDEN N.Y. U.S.A. on one side and SS700 STAINLESS on the other.
I am so thrilled to have been entrusted with this knife. I plan to give it a little more TLC and carry it from time to time. I took some quick pictures, so I could share.
