Hi All- does anybody know anyhing about the schrade trapper with a gold statue of liberty etch on blade, and sterling bolsters? i believe its a 1986 special edition. I saw it on a web site and was considering buying it. I was wondering if it was in a series of knives? and how limited the production was? or what would be a fair market price?::rolleyes: Thanks In Advance- Neil

Here are several flyers from the "collectors-of-schrades-r-us" pages. Is this the knife you are talking about? I know it's not a trapper, but it's what I found on the Statue of Liberty in 1986. If so, I've seen several recently go on ebay for roughly $40-60. Oops, check that. After an advanced search on closed auctions, the last one went for $26! Heck of a deal on that, in my opinion. I don't know that it was part of a series. Think it was just issued as a "collectible".

As usual for Schrade there are 2 versions of the knife. One in bone the other in Delrin.

I'm not familiar with a delrin version, but i have two , both with bone handles , the difference is one is just engraved and the other is gold on the engravings on the blade. Have the paper work on both, no mention of delrin handles., happy collecting, G.M

If you go to Larry's "open for viewing pages' Schrades R Us "under collections, Grey Menace collection there are pictures.

Welcome Mintinbox, here's the gold etched one, it came in a walnut box rather than the frame, and has sterling bolsters as opposed to the nickel silver bolsters on the plain etched version. It was an edition of 500 knives:

Yes, I stand corrected it wasn't a trapper for sale, it was a one blade as pictured above. Is it a lockback? the one that was offered had a gold etch on blade and "sterling" on the bolster. It might of been just how it looked in the picture, but I thought the handle material appeared to be red smooth bone, and it comes with the wood display box, and papers. But if it is like the one in the picture you guys posted ill be pleased (I ended up buying it, Check is in the mail today!) Im hoping it is the one with a 500 piece run because I paid $90 is that too high you think?- Thanks so much for your replies- Mint
