:confused:Question! In what years were Schrade Sharpening Steels made. I managed to find one at an estate sale yesterday for a dollar. Measures 7 inches long, 1 inch wide, and taper's down to a chisel point end. The head is stamped Schrade, HS-1, PAT. NO. D-227,733.Perhaps not as exciting a find as an OT pocketknife, but a treasure none the less! Any answer to this is kindly appreciated. Thank you, Dale H.

Thanks for the reference. Very interesting commentary on the sharpening steels. I now know I own a HS-1 , type 2. Looks good lying next to my Schrade Mdl. 148 I managed to come upon this past summer. Thanks again,Dale H.

I know this is not a Schrade but went and looked at the one that I got from my parents. It is True Edge Ontario Knife Co. Anyone know about this?
