Actually, as an old Codger, my memory often times fails me. But I do research Schrade knives and write down the results. Thanks to the advent of computer word documents, I don't have to shuffle back through years of paper documents and catalogs to retrieve the information I am looking for. I snipped your answer from my 34OT research document. The 34OT was an all time best selling pattern for Schrade, one of the very few to eclipse the original 8OT in shear volume of production.
The first resource to go to for this kind of general production info is a copy, paper or electronic, of Robert Clemente's book
"A Catalog History of Schrade Knives - Uncle Henry & Old Timer". It was the first and still only comprehensive guide to these knives. As the title suggests, RObert did an intensive study of the old Schrade Walden and Schrade catalogs to compile his book. You can contact Mr. Clemente directly for a copy as this is a self published book generally not available in book stores.

My research goes beyond the information available in catalogs using a lot of different resources including original factory documents, production records and advertisements as well as original examples of packaging and the pieces themselves. My work is not yet published except as shared here on BF.com. You have to purchase a membership in order to do a forum search to find those research papers, but it costs less than a knife and if you are truly interested in knives, returns far greater value than it's cost.
Here is my research on the 34OT
Middleman as posted back in February 2006.

My research is periodically updated, so when I do finally publish the results, there will likely be more information included. And a lot of spelling corrections!
