Schrade Swinden Key

I have an old timer 8ot that has some blade play from side to side. Thie knife is made with the swinden key so is there any way of tightening it up. Can I use a vice like I can with a regular pinned knife. Thanks for your help in advance.

Probably not since the pivot pin is internal and does not extend into the bolsters. The bolsters are pinned to the liners seperately with tommy-on pins. You might contact Dale Vincent (member Orvet) for a workaround. He has had these apart for repair and customizing.
