Schrade "Teddy Roosevelt" TR1 Knife

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here...and can't believe I haven't looked for this website a long time ago! I'll be passing the word to my fellow amateur knife collectors.

My question is... I'm a big Teddy Roosevelt fan/collector. I recently won a Schrade TR1 Commemorative Knife on eBay for $41.00 I'm really unconcerned if I overpaid for the item cause I like the fact that it's a Schrade and bears TR and his famous quote "Speak softly and carrry a big stick" quote.

Can anyone help me with the year this was produced? It's Brand new in the box and includes the TR fact/information sheet. The only thing stamped on the blade is:

SCHRADE
U.S.A. TR1

Welcome to the forum, Gerry. According to my references, the Teddy Roosevelt knife was produced in 1975. The price at the time was $80. I have no idea how many were issued.

Codger 64 & Textoothpk...thanks! That's a great picture Codger...if I knew how to post a pic, I would have done it. That is the same knife. Thanks to Textoothpk I now know that it was produced in 1975. Mine is serial numbered #9906...it would be interesting to learn how many were produced...maybe 10,000?

As for posting pictures, I tweak them in a paint program, save them in a document folder, then upload them to a photohost online. Then I just copy/paste the URL from there here with my text. This keeps me from loading up the bandwidth here on the forums.

What's a good on-line photohost? I tried shutterfly, but I didn't see where it let me place a link in my post.
