Our new Wally World just put up a new Cardboard Knife display, and it has a Schrade Tennessee River Trapper Knife with "real Jigged Bone". Can anyone tell me what kind of steel is used on this. I'm hoping it's the 1095. it doesn't look like one the lesser quality stainless steels. I'm thinking it might make me a good father's day present.:D

I am sorry I can't answer your question about what steel is used but if I had to guess I would say schrade+ stainless.by the way what is the price on the knife,It sounds interesting?

I just picked up one of those from Wallyworld and they were on a clear-out at $20.00!
I couldn't resist and picked one out of the three remaining....
I also picked up a Uncle Henry 897uh for just $14.00!
I am so impressed with these knives for that kind of money, they look great, seem to have enough walk and talk and they just feel great in my hand!
I do wish the TRT 96 came with the tweezers and toothpick though......but for that kind of cash I won't complain too much!
It was a heavy knife buying day to be sure!
I also picked and 80t for just $15.00 at Fred Meyer....another great deal!
I won't even mention here my Case knives that I had to have from Lowe's.....
Kap :D

I picked up a TRT 96 today for $23 at Wal Mart. Nice pocket knife. I think I am going to like this one.

I am liking this more and more everyday. Fit and finish are very good and the blades open and close with a strong snap. The bone scales and silver bolsters are very nice and give the knife a more exspensive feel. The Schrade+ blades are thin and slice well. So far it seems to hold a pretty good edge however I have not used it a great deal.

Well I happened to just make a trip to WallyWorld in Bellingham and checked to see any clearouts remained........not a chance!
Anyway it appears that a number of Schrade knives have been delisted and replaced with Winchester knives.'
They did have a two bade slipjoint by Schrade that was new it touted Titanium coated blades.....?

Bought a nice Case Amber bone Trapper at Lowes for 32.99......very happy with that! :D
